Good day everyone.
It is my honor and privilege to serve as your 2021 South Lake Detachment Commandant. I have some big shoes to fill, but am excited and fortunate to have outstanding support from our past Detachment Commandants, as well as an excellent group of experienced 2021 officers to assist me.
We have a busy year ahead.
My goals are to stand on the shoulders of our past leaders and to increase membership, to resume and expand our community outreach, and to above all have fun and grow our cadre of volunteers.
The 2021 elected officers include former commandant Collin A. Cotterell who will serve as Sr. Vice Commandant and mentor to me. Collin will retain his duties as Quartermaster and Ceremonial Team leader. I am profoundly grateful that Wil Gomez will serve as Jr. Vice Commandant and continue his Paymaster duties. Al Edwards will serve as Judge Advocate, having served as Sr. Vice Commandant previously.
Appointed positions for 2021 include: Ira Goldberg, continuing as Sergeant at Arms; Lu Garcia, continuing as Chaplain; and Dave Holt, Adjutant along with his duties as Web Sergeant.
