The Department of Florida Fall Conference is scheduled from October 9-11 at Hyatt Place Wesley Chapel. Full details will soon become available on the Dept website (scroll down toward bottom of page at the link) HERE

The Professional Development Training Program (PDTP) will also occur at this event (normally on Friday from 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM) and this training is mandatory for anyone holding an Marine Corps League officer position at the detachment level or above. So if you are currently in a position and haven’t attended yet, or plan to run for a position in the future, sign up now.

Hello everyone!!  It's that time of year again for love.  The South Lake Marine Corps League, Detachment 1120, Clermont, Fl, is hosting a Valentines get together at the following restaurant:

This place has great food and service.  In case you have trouble finding it, once you have found a parking spot, and you walk into their plaza on the ground floor, the restaurant is directly across from the Guru Restaurant (also excellent food).  So, you are facing the Guru Restaurant entrance doors — turn around — it's directly behind you, with the closed umbrellas on the outside.  Every once in a while, we like to try different places.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP IF YOU ARE COMING AS WE NEED TO MAKE A RESERVATION.

Bring your loved one or significant other.  It's going to be great seeing everyone again.  Be there or be square!

Join fellow Marines and FMF Corpsmen and Chaplains for fun and fellowship at our monthly South Lake County Detachment meeting.

The meeting will begin at 19:00 hrs (7:00pm), Monday, January 27, 2025 at the Clermont VFW Post 5277, located at 855 W. Desota St, Clermont, FL 34711 MAP

Please come early at 1830 hrs (6:30pm) for social time with drinks and snacks.

South Lake Detachment #1120 invites all those interested to attend it’s 2024 Toys For Toys family distribution event beginning Friday, December 13, 2023 (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) and Saturday, December 14th (8:00 AM - 2:00 PM).

The distribution to those families who have previously signed up will be at 320 Crittendon St, Groveland, FL 34736.

Thanks to all the volunteers and businesses that hosted collection boxes and donated time, toys and money to make this 2024 Toys for Tots event a success.

Christmas Dinner with Spouses at Clermont's Piesano's Stone Fired Pizza

Hello Marine Corps friends and family --

We usually have a Christmas party, but this year I am arranging for a Christmas DINNER at Piesanos (where we had our last very successful Valentines party).  A party at my clubhouse would have involved a lot of work (for me and the committee), so for this year, at least, a dinner is the best option.

Whenever our league gets together, we always have an awesome time.  For some of us, it's the only time we see each other.  It's great to reconnect with old friends (that are like family), especially in the spirit of the holiday season.  I made the reservation, and just need to know the number of attendees.  It will be held as follows:
